Our Story …

Ikegai was born out of the desire to enrich schools and instill a sense of purpose and value in the system. The nature of this work is so human intensive- with children being the central focus- that it becomes imperative for everyone in this sphere to keep asking themselves- “why we do what we do”. Schools in India are at the threshold of transformation as we move towards adopting 21st Century learning to ensure children are future-ready and equipped to take on challenges of the real world, with a strong sense of passion and mission. Are our teachers and schools equipped to empower them?

To ensure this, the spirit of Ikegai and the right mindset needs to be embraced top-down, which is what we work on instilling in each school.

With this spirit, Sanchi, after a decade-long stint in the Education space in various capacities- as a teacher, mentor, master trainer, consultant, etc., set out to lay the foundation for Ikegai Education Labs. She was shortly joined by Hema Nair as Co founder, a close friend and professional associate, who came with a rich experience of over 20 years, including school leader, across curricula. Since its inception, IEL has worked with and impacted schools in various capacities pan-India, including whole-school metamorphosis, trainings, curriculum support, soft skill training, enrichment for students and parents, and beyond.
